DESCRIPTION:City officials have announced that a date has been scheduled for a town hall meeting to enlighten residents of the development process in town and recent projects in Glendora.\n\n\n\nThe development town hall meeting is scheduled for Wednesday\, February 18\, at 7 p.m. in the Bidwell Forum of the Glendora Public Library.\n\n\n\nWhile specific details have yet to emerge\, Glendora Mayor Judy Nelson said at the Jan. 13 City Council meeting that she would also like for residents to provide feedback and voice their concerns about the changing face of the city.\n\n\n\nAt the Jan. 13 meeting\, the Council voted unanimously in favor of holding a town hall meeting after many residents throughout Glendora have been registering their concern and frustration over the frequency and type of development being approved for construction.\n\n\n\nThe 4-story Avalon Bay project receives most of the criticism  for its hight and for the large parking structure being built in the center of it.\n\n\n\nAt the same meeting\, the Council also voted unanimously to review the Route 66 Specific Plan\, which governs the types of development that can be built along the Route 66 corridor in Glendora.\n\n\n\nThe Route Specific Plan was written more than a decade ago and generally was created to mitigate what was considered blight along Route 66 and to bring in younger families that would attract more businesses.
